As mentioned in a previous post, Spirit Communication Technologies is not yet conducting experiments. In this post I will detailed what is being done, as there are still activities that are being undertaken to support the company’s aims.
Personal Development
I have been working on myself and developing various qualities, some of which are necessary to possess before I can start experiments. One quality I would like to mention is my ability to communicate with spirits in more traditional ways (known as mediumship). I have received some messages from spirits which have highlighted further areas I need to work on to be a good medium, or a good spirit communication experimenter.
Equipment Purchased
Spirit Communication Technologies now has some equipment that could be used for experiments. This includes an analogue voice recorder, radio, microcassettes and a Raspberry Pi computer.
Learning Rust
Rust is a relatively new programming language, which I feel has a lot of advantages over other programming languages and as such make it a good choice for when software needs to be written to operate any circuitry used in future experiments/devices. I have therefore spent a significant amount of time learning Rust.
Experiments Database
I decided to write some database-related software that will enable data generated by future experiments to be recorded effectively, and be available for analysis. This involved making a specification about how the database was going to work, followed by a Graphical User Interface to provide an easy way to interact with the database in accordance with the specification. This software is still in development but is taking shape quite nicely. Below are some screenshots of what the interface currently looks like.
One thing I need to be mindful of when handling data is GDPR, which is regulation protecting personal data in both the EU and UK. Interestingly, information about deceased people is not considered personal data by this law, however as experiments will also involve people who are not deceased, compliance with GDPR is required. As such I have spent some time ensuring that once experiments do start, Spirit Communication Technologies’ role as Data Controller will be fulfilled responsibly.
Accounts and Company Law
Like any other company, Spirit Communication Technologies needs to maintain up to date accounts and comply with Company Law. Currently this is all done by me, Matei Mandache as the intention is not to hire an accountant.
